The Gallery at the Wharf, Burscough Wharf (fingers crossed) will open in 6 weeks on Friday 11th February 2011 - more details to follow.

As you can see there is a lot of work left to do . . . . .

Burscough Wharf plans to open on Valentines weekend in 2011.

Temporary Gallery OPENING !!!

The Guild has the opportunity to open a temporary 'pop up' gallery, while the permanent gallery is finished.

We will run the pop up gallery as a pilot, for the project that will start in January 2011!

Still building!!

The building work continues on the new build against the A59. Its coming along, and soon they will have finished the outside!

The guild gallery will be open in January 2011 . . . we hope!!!

This is a view of inside the gallery - doesn't look much now, but we will all have to wait and see what it looks like in November - yes, that's right I said November this year!!

Demolition under way . . .

The scafolding has gone up on the A59 and the builders have started the demolition of a quarter of the wharf buildings. The photo below was taken from the other side of the A59.

Building work has started . . .

The builders have moved into the wharf at Burscough and are working 7 days a week. The opening date is said to be at the beginning of November . . this year 2010!! A notice has gone up about the footpath on the A59 past the Wharf buildings - it will be closed to pedestrians from 6th April till 21st September.

Guild members don't have too long to secure funding to make our dream come true of a permanent space to exhibit and sell our work. We the Art and Craft Guild members have already started on this enormous task. Keep checking this blog for more updates.
