Well, that is if the guild manage to obtain funding - 'fingers in pies' at the moment, so keep checking the blog for more info and also the guilds website.

Building work has started . . .

The builders have moved into the wharf at Burscough and are working 7 days a week. The opening date is said to be at the beginning of November . . this year 2010!! A notice has gone up about the footpath on the A59 past the Wharf buildings - it will be closed to pedestrians from 6th April till 21st September.

Guild members don't have too long to secure funding to make our dream come true of a permanent space to exhibit and sell our work. We the Art and Craft Guild members have already started on this enormous task. Keep checking this blog for more updates.

PS If you are anywhere near Lytham from 20th April till 9th May, pop into the Lytham Heritage Centre and see the Guilds spring selling exhibition. More info on the events page http://www.artandcraftguild.co.uk/

Burscough Wharf

This picture was taken a couple of years ago, across the Leeds
Liverpool Canal of Burscough Wharf.
The Wharf is situated on the canal and the A59 in the centre of
Burscough, near Ormskirk, Lancashire.
Burscough Bridge Station and Tescos are a couple of hundred yards down
the road, the A59.

This blog . . .

This blog is about The Art & Craft Guild of Lancashire, formerly known
as The Craft Guild of West Lancashire, opening their own gallery shop,
a permanent place to display and sell their work. So far we have the
place, Burscough Wharf, but we need funding to fit out and run the
gallery shop.
